Catching up after the last few crazy months

Wow, the last 5 months have certainly gone by quickly and it all just seems like a tornado came through leaving me in what I can only call utter exhaustion. My son's pneumonia lasted almost 2 months. That took care of May and June. By early July, once my husband and I knew he was much healthier, we felt we needed to get away for a bit for our own mental health so off we went to Hawaii. Did I mention the trip was originally scheduled and booked for Mexico(Puerto Vallarta, where we met)? But due to a hurricane we had to literally change plans 2 days before leaving or so. Yeah, that was pretty stressful :-) but hey, can't complain when your plans do change and you end up in the Big Island. Off we went for 7 days and 6 nights. It was very nice indeed. Relaxing which is just what we needed. We barely left the resort except to catch the shuttle that would take us to the market area to grab lunch and do a bit of shopping. Because you know we had to find a Ukulele for our music inclined and guitar obsessed son. The room was big and comfortable and we had a gorgeous view. The resort was huge and we loved it, the sunsets, well, what can I say, that was the best part. They were absolutely spectacular. From our room, from one of the lounge chairs in front of the ocean, it didn't matter, they were just supremely gorgeous.
Vacation went by quick but then again, don't they always??? Back we were, with our loving son, can't complain when a vacation ends but you come home to your kiddo and he is so happy to see you back you want to cry of joy and love and even some guilt for having left for a week, all at the same time. Will try to post a few pictures shortly of the trip.
After getting back into the swing of work and daycare and parenthood and everyday life running a household it feels like July was gone in the blink of eye. Then August came, and yet again, wow, what a whirlwind that month was.
